Since April 1, 2025, Solventure has welcomed a new Chief Operating Officer (COO): Werner Roelandt. With a strong background in technology and business leadership, gained at companies such as Philips, Siemens, and CGI, Werner brings both technical depth and strategic insight to Solventure. In this blog, he reflects on his first months in the role and shares his perspective on what lies ahead for the company.
Werner began his career at Philips, where he specialized in embedded software engineering. Working from the Philips sites in Leuven and Bruges, he contributed to several innovative projects like the development of the Philips Ambilight TV. Later, he joined Siemens. First in the IT Solutions and Services division and later he became Business Unit Manager at Siemens Building Technologies. At CGI he went back to his roots of software and IT where he was responsible for the Private Companies market as Vice President of Consulting Services.
“The variety of roles I’ve had allowed me to connect technology, people, and business outcomes,” Werner shares. “That’s exactly the kind of intersection Solventure operates in: helping companies align strategy and execution to deliver real impact. Joining Solventure feels like a natural next step.”
Werner: “Even before my official start, I was invited to join the annual offsite in March. It was the perfect introduction to Solventure. Seeing the energy, openness, and teamwork that drives the company every day. Experiencing the core values in action gave me a real sense of what makes Solventure unique.”
“Once I officially started, the onboarding was very well organized, which helped me quickly understand how the company operates and where the real challenges lie. It gave me insight into the daily reality our teams face: balancing customer expectations, project delivery, and ongoing innovation. That’s where the true strength of Solventure shows, tackling complexity together, in a pragmatic and collaborative way.”
During his first months, Werner handled the direct follow-up of several projects over the holiday period.
Werner: “This gave me the opportunity to work closely with both customers and the Solventure team, showcasing the strength of our collaboration.
Werner emphasized the importance of growth and teamwork within Solventure. “I see my role as an integrator between different departments and someone who translates the company's long-term goals into concrete annual plans. That’s why it is important to have the right structures and processes in place to ensure quality and efficiency, and align delivery and sales teams, ensuring they work towards common goals.”
What really stood out in Werner’s first months is the open culture and drive of our people. Everyone, no matter their role, connects and collaborates naturally, always looking for ways to improve. It’s a spirit we value and want to keep as we grow, through team events and the strong sense of community across the company.
Werner has a clear and pragmatic view of Solventure’s future. Rather than changing what already works, his goal is to strengthen it, growing the company in a sustainable way while preserving the open culture and core values that define Solventure.
“Our next step is about scaling with purpose,” Werner explains. “That means continuing to improve how we deliver value to our customers, deepening our expertise across teams, and creating even more opportunities for people to grow. Solventure already helps global manufacturing companies take control of their growth plans by connecting data, processes, and performance. My focus is on building the structure and capabilities to keep doing that at scale, unlocking measurable impact in margin, working capital, and agility for our clients.”
